My stay at Des Almadies Hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The beach and pool were lovely, but the cleanliness and service left much to be desired. While my room had a few redeeming qualities, the ongoing renovations and some issues with pests made my experience less enjoyable.

Rooms
5.0
I was given a 'renovated' room, which was fine but plagued by mosquitoes and had a few cockroaches in the bathroom. The furniture was old, and I didn't feel entirely comfortable.
Service
5.0
The staff varied in their friendliness. I had one encounter where I asked for a towel at the beach, and it felt like I was left hanging. Many staff just didn't seem trained or interested in helping out.
Location
7.0
The hotel is located right on the sea, which is beautiful, but it was a mosquito haven. Enjoying a drink by the pool at night became uncomfortable due to the bugs.
Dining
6.0
I found the restaurant's prices steep for what was offered, but the beach bar had delicious and affordable food options. Though the breakfast buffet had some variety, it was often underwhelming.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel is spacious and has lovely outdoor areas, including two private beaches. However, the internet connection was spotty, which made things frustrating during my stay.

My stay at Des Almadies Hotel was quite disappointing. While the location is nice and the lobby has a certain charm, the rooms were far below acceptable standards. The air conditioning was a positive, but overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel given the cleanliness issues and poor dining options.

Rooms
5.0
The room was dark and felt damp. I noticed the shower was not up to par, with only room temperature water available most of the time. No refrigerator or working TV remote added to my frustration.
Service
5.0
Service was generally business-like but lacked warmth. I encountered issues with room assignments and had to follow up multiple times to get any assistance at all.
Location
6.0
The location was one of the few positives. It had a nice setting near the pool, though it was riddled with mosquitoes, which made it uncomfortable to enjoy.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was particularly underwhelming. There was a lot of bread and not much selection beyond croissants and fruit. The lunch buffet I experienced was decent, but not worth the steep price charged.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were lacking; Wi-Fi was non-existent in the room and incredibly slow at the reception. The cleanliness of the common areas also left much to be desired.

My stay at Des Almadies Hotel was a mixed experience. On one hand, the location is stunning, right on the beach with the soothing sound of waves. On the other hand, the service was hit-or-miss, and I had several issues with the basic amenities in my room. While the staff were friendly and eager to help, the inconsistent internet made it hard to stay connected, especially since I was there for work.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were small and not very well lit, with some cleanliness issues like grime and rust in the bathrooms, though the showers were decent. I enjoyed the ocean view, which was a plus.
Service
5.0
The staff were incredibly kind and eager to help, but sometimes it felt like I was imposing when asking for repairs or extra supplies. Their service could definitely improve in terms of responsiveness.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location is fantastic, right on the sea with a charming beach nearby. However, the outdoor areas, especially the pool, were often crowded and a bit chaotic on weekends.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were quite underwhelming. Breakfast lacked a good selection of fruit and hot items, which was disappointing given the price.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities like the outdoor pool were nice, but overall the hotel didn't feel very secure, especially with some room safety issues that occurred during my stay. The inconsistent internet was also frustrating for work.

I had a pleasant stay at Des Almadies Hotel, with its spacious rooms and beautiful ocean views. The breakfast buffet was quite pricey, but I enjoyed the quality food options. However, the Wi-Fi was a bit inconsistent, and the restaurant prices were on the higher side. Overall, it was a nice experience with some areas for improvement.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms are spacious with great ocean views, but they are somewhat old. I appreciated the mosquito nets and found the beds comfortable. However, the air conditioning could use improvement.
Service
8.0
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made my stay enjoyable. They kept the hotel clean, but communication with the cleaning staff could sometimes be challenging due to language differences.
Location
8.0
The hotel is located in a quiet area, which is nice. It's close to some lively nightlife spots and restaurants, making it convenient for exploring Dakar.
Dining
6.0
While the breakfast buffet had amazing offerings, it was quite expensive. I preferred dining at the bar for more affordable options like fresh salads and fish.
Facilities
7.0
The pools and private beaches were highlights of my stay. The hotel is sprawling with beautiful outdoor spaces, but I did notice some areas under renovation.

My stay at Des Almadies Hotel was quite disappointing. The beautiful coastline was a highlight, but the hotel itself struggled with cleanliness and service. I faced a dreadful swarm of mosquitoes upon arrival, and the room conditions were less than ideal. Overall, I left feeling that I might enjoy the surroundings, but not at this hotel again.

Rooms
5.0
The room was dirty, with features like a bed net that had burn holes and cockroaches in the bathroom. The view was nice, but the cleanliness was lacking.
Service
5.0
The service was unfriendly and disorganized. I felt uncomfortable asking for repairs or additional housekeeping. The staff was hit-or-miss in being helpful.
Location
6.0
The location by the sea was lovely, providing a beautiful beach, but I found it to be a mosquito haven during the evenings.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were underwhelming at the hotel, with just lots of bread available. The breakfast buffet was both expensive and not very diverse.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities like the pool were nice, but the mosquito issue made relaxing difficult. I also experienced frequent issues with the payment system.
